Organized Play in Cyberpunk TCG

The biggest TCG (Trading Card Game) Kickstarter project coming to local game stores this Autumn with organized play to bring people around the world back to Cyberpunk world from Cyberpunk 2077 universe.

Here is a quick overview of recently revealed Organized Play structure so far, some info about incoming events for competitive play and more.

Organized play structure comes into two main pillars: Night City Gauntlet and Competition Level Events.

In September for some selected LGS (Local Game Store) comes Night City Beta events. Similarly to Prerelease events participants will be using “sealed deck” format to build a deck of 30 cards and 3 Legends, to enjoy friendly competition and prepare for full set release at the end of October.

After the pre-releases comes the opportunity to join weekly events — Night City Brawls. It is the best way to experiment with deckbuilding, to take first steps in the start of the competitive journey to all skill and experience levels of players.

Finally, the main competitive event of LGS for each set is Night City Showdown. With exclusive prizing, including alternative art promos and more towards the end of each set cycle.

With Set 2 comes larger events like Night City District Open for 64 to 128 players hosted by stores that supported Cyberpunk TCG the most. For an even larger scale: Edgerunner Open Regional tournaments and special invite-only type of events — Black Sapphire Invitational Championships for top level players who performed the best at previous competitive events. More details on prizing and structure coming later this year.

And finally, like any major TCG in the market, Cyberpunk TCG will have a World Championship type of tournament with the very highest level of competition next year.
